Hok Chun Andy Chung

Born in Hong Kong in 1994, Hok Chun Andy Chung received his first piano  lesson at the age of nine. In 2008, Andy was admitted to the Junior Music  Program of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and studied piano  with Professor Gabriel Kwok. He was the first pianist in Hong Kong to  receive the ABRSM scholarship in 2012 when he began his undergraduate  studies in HKAPA. After completed his Bachelor Degree with First Class  Honours, Andy continued his study as a full scholarship postgraduate at the  Royal Academy of Music in 2016, with Professor Christopher Elton. Most  recently, he is studying with Professor Fabio Bidini at the Hochschule für  Musik und Tanz Köln. 

Andy has given performance around the world, including: United Kingdom,  Germany, Italy, Austria, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand and the  United States. The orchestras he has performed with include the ABRSM  Orchestra, the HKAPA Academy Symphony Orchestra and the Hfmt Cologne  Orchestra and the Orchestra Filarmonica “Mihail Jora” di Bacau. 

Andy is also a prize winner in many competitions. Recent awards include:  1st Prize in the 2020 Sardoal International Piano Competition in Portugal. 1st  Prize in 2020 Karlrobert Kreiten Competition in Germany, 3rd Prize in the  2019 Singapore International Piano Competition, and 2nd Prize in the 20th  “Maria Giubilei” International Piano Competition in Italy.
